Every dollar builds a generation. Fund our rabbi search, our new building, and Charlotte's first Orthodox Kβ12 school.
Who We Are
Charlotte Shul began the way the best things do β around a family's dining room table, with a handful of Jewish families who wanted something real. Not a program. Not an institution. A community.
Operating out of a house in Stonehaven, we've grown from a small house minyan into a gathering that draws nearly 100 people every month for Kabbalat Shabbat. We've built an active kosher food delivery network, a chesed committee, and a growing roster of programming β all without institutional backing or national affiliation.
We operate under an Orthodox constitution and take halacha seriously β while holding our doors open to every Jew, regardless of background or observance. We believe Jewish identity is something to celebrate, pass on, and build a life around. That's what we're doing in Charlotte.
The next chapter is bigger: a full-time rabbi and rebbetzin, a dedicated synagogue building, and Charlotte's first independent Orthodox Kβ12 day school. We are in the founding moment. Come be part of it.
We operate under Orthodox halacha and take Jewish law seriously β it is our framework and our inheritance.
Every Jew is warmly welcomed here, regardless of background, observance level, or affiliation history.
Being Jewish is something to celebrate, pass on, and build a life around. We exist to make that happen.
Not affiliated with any other organization or movement. Grassroots β built by families, for families.
A Kβ12 Jewish day school is central to our vision. Without it, the community cannot sustain itself for generations.
Community care β meal trains, support for mourning families, welcome for newcomers β is not a program. It's who we are.
Services & Programs
We offer programming for every stage of Jewish life β from Shabbat gatherings to kosher coordination to chesed support. Here's what we have, and where we're headed.
Our flagship monthly gathering draws ~100 people from across Charlotte. A warm, meaningful Friday night service followed by communal dinner. Open to all. No membership required.
Regular prayer services throughout the week and Shabbat. All services follow Orthodox tradition with a warm, welcoming atmosphere for Jews at every level.
Full holiday programming across the Jewish calendar β Rosh Hashana, Yom Kippur, Sukkot, Chanukah, Purim, Pesach, and more. Real celebrations, not just services.
Charlotte has limited kosher retail. We've built an active kosher food delivery coordination network for anyone who wants to participate.
Meal trains for new mothers and families in need, support during mourning, and a welcoming committee for families new to Charlotte. Real care, built on real relationships.
Shabbat programming for children is in active development. Our long-term goal is a full Kβ12 day school β the cornerstone of a multigenerational community.

Why Charlotte
Charlotte is one of the most compelling cities in America for Jewish families right now β a rare combination of economic opportunity, affordability, and the chance to be a founding generation in something permanent.
Charlotte is home to Bank of America, Wells Fargo, Truist, Honeywell, Lowe's, Duke Energy, Atrium Health, and a booming fintech sector. It's a serious career city β not a stopover.
Real estate near the shul is still accessible. Families who join now can buy within walking distance. That window won't stay open as the community grows.
Charlotte's Jewish population is growing fast β and the infrastructure hasn't kept up. There is no full-time Orthodox rabbi, no kosher retail, no Kβ12 day school. We're building all of it.
Excellent public and private schools, mild climate, safe neighborhoods, and a genuine sense of community. Charlotte is a city families are choosing β not tolerating.
The families who join Charlotte Shul today will shape its culture permanently. Every institution has a founding generation. This is ours. That role is not available twice.
Charlotte's first independent Orthodox Kβ12 day school is our long-term anchor. For families with children, this is the reason to choose Charlotte over Boca Raton or Teaneck or the Five Towns.
Be one of them.
The Vision
We're not just building a synagogue. We're building the complete infrastructure of a thriving Jewish community β the kind that lasts 100 years and draws families from across the country.
A dedicated synagogue space β purpose-built for weekly services, expanded Shabbat and Yom Tov gatherings, and a weekday kollel. The permanent home of Charlotte Shul.
Charlotte's first independent Orthodox day school. Open to all Jewish families. Academic excellence alongside deep Judaic and Hebrew studies. Graduates who are proud, connected, and committed to Jewish continuity.
We're actively seeking our founding rabbi: inclusive Orthodox, community-builder, strong with young families, long-term Charlotte commitment. The single highest-leverage hire we can make.
